Mbappe didn't need long to work his magic. The winger opened the scoring inside 15 minutes, finishing a neat move with a poke through the goalkeeper's legs. Ruiz added the second, finishing into an empty net after a defensive mix-up from the visitors. Nice managed to pull one back, with Gaetan Laborde's incisive finish making it 2-1 before the break. However, Lucas Beraldo's tidy header on the hour mark put the game beyond the visitors and sealed PSG's spot in the Coupe de France semis.

Once again, Mbappe was at the centre of all of the good things the Parisians did. He opened the scoring with a fine finish, and remained an attacking threat throughout. He tied defenders in knots, pinged an effort off the post, and created chances for his team-mates, too. The Parisians don't need him every week, but they will certainly miss him.

It was a rough evening throughout for Marcin Bulka. The former PSG goalie had an unwelcome homecoming, making a number of mistakes before sustaining what looked a nasty facial injury in the second half. He could have perhaps done better on Mbappe's opener, letting the winger's shot squirm between his open legs. And it was his error under pressure that gifted the Parisians their second goal. A forgettable one for the Pole.

WHAT COMES NEXT?

With the win, the Parisians advance to the Coupe de France semi-finals, where they will face Rennes on April 2. Next, they face Montpellier on Saturday in Ligue 1, where they will hope to maintain their 10-point lead atop the table.
