Cricinfo staff06-Feb-2009Australia’s dismal run which has seen them lose their last five ODIs has resulted them slipping to third in the ICC ODI Rankings behind South Africa and India. The top of the Rankings is so tight that another India win on Sunday could close the gap on South Africa to just two points, while New Zealand, in fourth, could close to within three points of South Africa with three more wins over AustraliaAustralia are now one point behind India, four off leaders South Africa and only four clear of New Zealand. But they can regain second spot if they win back-to-back matches against New Zealand on Sunday, in Sydney, and Adelaide, on Tuesday. If they win all three remaining games they can draw level with South Africa.
